Joe has worked with/in the Cleveland Municipal Courts for a while and knows the ins and outs. He also has working relationships with judges and court personnel which helps him tremendously with his cases and clients. I had a situation when I was operating a car way over allowed drinking level. My BAC level was over Tier 3. Basically I was looking into some jail time plus probation. Joe did such a wonderful job. He returned partial driving privileges withing one week, and I had full privileges withing a month. My case was over within 6 months. I got reckless operation and no alcohol involvement. That was the greatest outcome for me and my family, since I got a privilege to apply for my US citizenship without waiting 5 more years. Joe remained professional throughout entire time, he proved that police officers did not do their job according to their rules. I didn't know what to do. I was looking at a possible 2nd OVI charge. I just so happened upon Joseph's profile here on Avvo. With so many good reviews I decided to give him a try. I am so glad I did. Joseph was very accommodating to my situation. He even drove out to meet me and even offered me rides. He explained everything to me about the case and provided me with a good amount of information on what to expect. He really worked my case. Interviewed the officers, checked the videos, etc. Long story short, and I'm not saying this can happen to you. He got my charged dropped down to a lesser offense! Extremely knowledgeable and a straight shooter. I was in a situation where it was very difficult for me to not be able to drive or to do any kind of jail time or program because of my circumstances. They were able to work out a deal where I did electronic house arrest (basically just be connected via my cell phone and could still take care of my responsibilities) and was given driving privileges that allowed me to do everything I needed to do. I blew over a .02. No plates, No breathalyser, No jail time. No program. Worth every penny. I was arrested for what looked to be a second dui, and definitely needed all the help I could get. After looking up different lawyers on this site, I really liked what I read about Mr. Hada and called to set up an appointment. I had little recollection of that night (sad, I know), and felt I was screwed as I wasn't very helpful to Joseph. He never judged me for my bad decision, and was honest about what could happen, and things to possibly expect. He advised me on what to do in the meantime. He worked very hard, and went above and beyond what many lawyers might do. In the end, my dui was dropped to a reckless op, but there were still consequences, as there should be. As a person who has never needed the use of a lawyer, I was pleasantly surprised on the attention to detail, attentiveness, friendliness, and how professional Joe was. He thought of everything! All of my questions were answered promptly. As someone who is very embarrassed by my OVI, I found it great that I could text Joe so my daughter and or co-workers couldn't hear our conversations. I was charged with OVI in Cleveland Heights. The cops also added driving in marked lines, swerving, and seatbelt. I refused to blow. I was given an Automatic License Suspension (ALS) as a result. Joe immediately saw issues with the ALS and got all the evidence needed. On the body cam, the officer even says "It's a close call" after my tests. Joe also saw a lot of issues with the administration of the tests. He was helpful and informative throughout the process & numerous delays from the Cleveland Heights court. When the day of reckoning finally came, Joe and his team went to work on my behalf talking to the prosecutor. The prosecutor offered reduced charges to Physical Control and Driving in Marked Lanes. I would have to do a weekend hotel alcohol course (couple hundred bucks), hope for no more driving suspension, and pay a license reinstatement fee ($500) and be on probation. Joe and his team didn't think this was a great deal. Obviously, better than an OVI, though! I was very nervous as the alternative to taking the deal was taking it to trial. Worse case scenario being potentially not being re-offered the deal, losing the case, and being charged with OVI and the other offenses. After Joe and his team carefully explained my options and how strong they felt my case was against the prosecution. This included a phone call to a big shot at the firm who stepped out a law conference he was heading to offer his personal advice to my case. Trusting their collective knowledge & expertise, I put my fate in their hands and said NO DEAL. Let's take it to trail! As we entered the courtroom to notify the Judge we would not be taking the plea deal, the prosecutor (visibly flustered) offered a Reckless Op (non alcohol related offense, 4pts) and a Swerving. WIN! And Joe had the ALS thrown out! No reinstatement fee and I was a valid driver within an hour due to his connections at the BMV. I had this enormous weight on my shoulder for months. The BIG DAY finally came and, with Joe's help, I left with the ability to drive freely and only had to pay the court $200 for the tickets. Of course, every situation is different. I was arrested for Driving Under the Influence back in October. First time offender/college student who just turned 23 years old. I was scared s***less because i didn't know how it was going to affect my future. Joe was great, kept me informed with everything and always a step ahead. I was charged with a low level OVI, and having never been in trouble like this before, it was an extremely scary and confusing situation. Joe Hada was simply wonderful; from the first meeting we had, he explained everything about the legal process to me, all the details for where the case was going to go, and what steps we needed to take. When we talked about what happened that night, even before seeing the video evidence, he was already finding fault with the way the officers had gone about arresting me. Joe combed every detail of the case; he even went out to where I was pulled over to measure if the ground was level! I know he must have had other cases going on, but it never felt that way. With how prepared he was each time we met, and all the details he knew, it felt like my case was the only one he was working on! There would often be times when I would get really nervous waiting on the prosecution to send some evidence, or in the days leading up to pretrial hearings, but Joe would always be available if I called, and he was very good at calming my nerves by explaining where we were at in the case and what his plan was from there. I cannot stress enough how kind he always was in addition to knowing his stuff! When it came time for the pretrial hearing, he was exceptionally prepared to present the legal faults he found with the prosecution's case. No detail was left unturned! At one point, he was even instructing my arresting officer how to properly administer some of the field sobriety tests! I had a very tough court, but he was able to get them to reduce the OVI charge to a physical control violation and reckless operation. I cannot imagine a more knowledgeable, confident lawyer to have worked with during this case; I am confident that if I had had anyone else representing me, I would have been convicted of an OVI. I made one big mistake one night that could have altered the course of my life. Luckily for all parties involved nobody was injurgery and the damage was all replaceable. Joe always kept me updated with what was going on with my case. I never once had to walk into a courtroom. Joe handled everything, all the charges were dropped, and I can now continue with my life making sure I never make the same mistake again. Saying that I'm grateful for how Joe helped me is an understatement. Without his help I'm not sure where I would be right now. I'm don't think anybody else could have done what he did.
